IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Earlier this year, the FTC expanded their requirements under the Safeguards Rule. However, on 11/15/22, they extended the deadline to be in compliance. The original December 9, 2022 deadline has been extended to June 9, 2023.

ISIADA has attended several webinars, classes, and conferences in order to learn more about these new requirements in order to be prepared to INCLUDE IT IN OUR NEWEST CONTINUING EDUCATION CURRICULUM. As always, we take great care and consideration in choosing topics that are important to dealers, and this information is the most important and complex in over a decade!

The Association is busy trying to find qualified IT companies to provide continuous monitoring or penetration testing for Idaho dealers, but this extension buys us a few more months to help all dealers dissect it so we can ALL BE IN COMPLIANCE by next summer.

The link to the official announcement is included below and gives some idea as to why they made this decision.

READ BEFORE PROCEEDING

Effective September 1, 2022, ITD has changed the rule, in accordance with the law, that EVERY dealer principal on an Idaho dealer/vessel license will be required to take the annual four-hours of Continuing Education. During this transition and due to the state of the economy, ISIADA will be reducing the cost of this education to $25 for all subsequent dealers after the first full-price registration. Each dealer principal must, however, pre-register independently for class. Seating is limited and offered on a first-come first-served basis, though we will make every effort to accommodate dealers even when classes are full!

Due to our class-size restrictions for proctoring classes on Zoom, please only register for class the month prior to or the month of your license expiration. This way, everyone has an equal chance of getting their Continuing Education credit hours before they expire. If your license does not expire within that time frame, and you choose to register for an earlier class, it is possible that you will be asked to move to a class date closer to your expiration date. In this event, YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BY PHONE of this request.

All class fees must be prepaid to reserve your seat(s) and are non-refundable.

Due to Covid-19, all classes are still being held via Zoom. It will be your responsibility to verify that you have received the email with the Zoom invitation link to join the class which is sent out late in the afternoon the day before the class.
